MY WHY: why push matters

Self-identity and confidence are a crucial aspects of an individual's personal and professional development. It can greatly influence an individual's choices, attitudes, and beliefs.  Mentoring 5th and 6th-grade young girls at this age is crucial for several reasons:

Formative Years: These early adolescent years are formative and impressionable, providing a unique opportunity to instill confidence, self-esteem, and leadership skills that can shape their future development.

  1. Building Resilience: Through mentorship during this age, young girls can develop resilience and coping mechanisms to navigate challenges and setbacks effectively.

  2. Confidence and Empowerment: Positive mentorship at this age can boost their confidence, empowering them to overcome barriers and pursue their goals with determination.

  3. Breaking Gender Stereotypes: By providing mentorship, we can challenge traditional gender stereotypes, encouraging young girls to explore diverse fields and leadership roles traditionally dominated by males.
    toward
  4. Social and Emotional Development: Young girls often face social and emotional challenges during this age, and mentorship can provide them with a supportive and understanding environment to develop healthy relationships and emotional intelligence.

  5. Long-term Impact: Early mentorship can have a lasting impact on their lives, contributing to a positive trajectory academically, personally, and professionally.

  6. Community Engagement: Empowered young girls will become active contributors to their communities, creating a ripple effect of positive change and social impact.

  7. Preventative Measure: Early mentorship can act as a preventative measure against potential negative influences or risky behaviors, guiding them toward positive choices.

Mentoring 5th and 6th-grade young girls is crucial as it lays the groundwork for their personal growth, leadership development, and future success, ultimately shaping a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
